Wednesday - Meet the Teacher

Gracie awoke at 4:15 a.m. and was awake for the day. She was a trooper and tried to go back to sleep, but it wasn't happening. Sadly she was quite moody as we got ready this morning. She really needed more sleep. She enjoyed the ride to daycare and was in a good mood by the time we got there.

Gracie had a good day and only took an hour nap. Jeff picked her up midafternoon and we headed to school to meet with Gracie's former Birth to Three teacher and her new teacher for preschool. Her new OT and speech therapist were there too. I love them all!!!! She will have 5 students in her class on Mondays and 10 students on Tuesdays. They are so well organized and Gracie had a great time playing with toys around the room. I just know she is going to love being there.

Gracie was so excited to see Emily, her former Birth to Three teacher. She spied her walk in the door and went running to her and gave her a big hug. They held hands and away we marched to her new classroom. Grace even has her own locker with a picture of a green frog on it. Very appropriate! When Gracie was so sick with I.S. we looked at the frog as a symbol:

Forever
Rely
On
God

So appropriate that would be the symbol as we start this new experience in her life.

Gracie was a good girl tonight. We stopped at the local Kwik Trip tonight to pick up some bananas, donuts, and a few other things. Gracie INSISTED on carrying the bag home all by herself. Actually dragging the bag home would be more appropriate. The bananas have grass ground into them and big scrape marks from being drug across the sidewalk. She was a trooper.

Gracie was so tired tonight. I think it took her two seconds to fall asleep.

Love,
Lisa, Jeff, and Gracie
