Saturday Fever

It's mommy at the keyboard tonight - Gracie awoke bright and early at 4:30 a.m. - She must not have realized it was Saturday and we could sleep in. She was in a good mood, but very hyper, I could tell that something was not right in her world. She fell asleep about 7:30 a.m. and as I lay beside her I knew she was not feeling well. She felt very warm, she had the chills, and she was in constant motion. When she awoke we took her temp and it was 102.1, Tylenol helped but we couldn't get her fever all the way down and it kept spiking up, so we started alternating the Tylenol with Motrin. When the meds were fresh, we would see her fever dip down to 99.5, but it has stayed around 100 most of the day.

We aren't sure what is up with this fever, she doesn't have a runny nose or appear to be sick in any other way. She was even quite happy and when the fever would be lower she was a busy girl. She played with toys, did alot of walking around the house and even got to watch a little TV.

Gracie took a 2-1/2 hour nap this afternoon and although hasn't really wanted too much formula/milk today, she will take drinks of water, ate a good lunch and an okay dinner. Hasn't really wanted any snacks. So definitely a lighter appetite, but not worrisome.

She fell asleep in my arms just before 8 p.m. and is now snug in her bed. I think I may join her shortly. It could be a long night if we don't get that fever to break.

We hope you all are healthy and warm.

Love,
Lisa, Jeff, and Gracie
